so i'm having a hard time in college at the moment, mainly because i really cannot decide what i want to do with my life. in two years i will leave here and maybe go to grad school? get a masters? get a job? i have no idea ( Read more... )

I don't think it's abnormal. You have fire under your butt, which happened to me as well. My roommate is 25 and still has no idea what to do with her life. Have you tried taking one of those career tests - does your college have a career center?

bme is so broad and so new, hahaha.

so you haven't joined the ranks of the pre-meds?

many of the bme people i know (who didn't do pre-med) who have graduated took some sort of analyst job at a financial firm

i was premed, and then i stopped. because my grades are not good enough for premed. fuckin' engineering >_

I know what you mean.
I went through my short stint of College thinking i'd want to do teaching.
That was what i set out to do. But, i just decided, fuck teaching.
It's not a job i could afford to do, while living the life i have laid out for myself.
I want a job with the potential for better pay, and more self reliance, not having to go home hoping i didn't fuck up, seeing as i'd just be teaching the future...history...
So i went with Graphic arts.
Now i just gotta re-enroll, and get my ducks in line, or start busting caps.
You'll figure it out, i don't doubt that.
But make sure you don't ignore potential paths just because they don't seem right.
You might pull a complete 180 but find yourself doing what would really make you happy in the long run.
Life a bitch, eh? :)
