Poor, poor Tony! Always sticking his foot in his mouth and he doesn't know when to stop. Another brilliant chapter.

I really enjoyed the character of Nicki and your writing ability makes her a fully realised character with backstory etc without much effort. I also love seeing Pepper's detachment from the situation and how in control she is. It's a nice change from the damsel in distress role she's often plonked in. Really, really enjoyed this part and looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks! I think that OCs can be a really effective tool if they're used sparingly--I know that y'all don't want to read about the hilarious and heartwarming adventures of Nicki, but I wanted to show that smart, cool women are interested in Tony. I find that there's this compulsion in fandom to either demonize or, um, bimbo-ize (for lack of a better word) the girls Tony hooks up with, when in fact in the films the majority of the women he shows any interest in (Christine, Natalie, and of course Pepper herself) are intelligent and articulate as well as attractive.

I just adore this fic. Tony is teetering and Pepper is staying rock steady. Poor, poor Tony.

Maybe he should have "walked" Nikki to her car!

(And the line about him having had sex in Pepper's office lots of time - true or not - was hilarious).

I have to hand it to Pepper... for sticking to her guns and trying so hard to stay one step ahead of him at all times... But I really feel like this is going to come back and bite her in the ass.

Nice bit of character development though, that he didn't go after the photog. Proud of him. :)
