wow.

see, i am not a mathematician, nor have i ever wanted to be one. numbers have always held some kind of specter of fear for me, because i have always been able to find answers to mathematical "questions", but i was unable to follow the rules and protocols(or at least explain away how i reached the answers i found).

you've essentially described chaos for me in a way that kind of validates something huge for me. what i have been able to pull from this, is that the tao is chaos. it is what it is, and it cannot be predicted nor can it be stopped. all we can do is react to it, and revel in it's beauty, which is just as simplistic as it is complicated.

math and i have a strange relationship. i've always enjoyed it conceptually, but my competitive/insecure side saw it as a hallmark of savantism, a kind of, "you know you're smart when..." i come up with all kinds of hair-brained ideas (geometric representations of political philosophies, for example) but, until recently, was too scared of what i might learn, or worse, what i wouldn't have the capacity to understand ( ... )
