I got a new digital camera, so I've been taking plenty of pictures of nothing special. Today's cool picture of the day seems pretty cool to me at least:

So Michel Gondry just showed his new movie The Science of Sleep today. I found it sad, repetitious, and weird (but not in the good weird way I found Eternal Sunshine). I kept wanting it to go somewhere; I'm not sure where. Parts of it were funny, but I mostly just felt unsatisfied.

sweet, the week just gets better and better (but then, my life could only get better after the past few weeks): somebody finally returned my keys!

So as I was walking over to a meeting after class, I saw a train going through building 46. It was a very cool sight to see and made me wish once again I had a good digital camera.

As much as option (e) appealed to me, I sucked it up and ordered the replacement part from IBM yesterday. It got here today and after downloading the hardware maintainence documents, I popped out the old fan and dumped in the new one. I was very impressed with how easy it is to swap parts in a Thinkpad, as well as how convenient the documentation ( Read more... )

Well, it looks like my laptop is halfway dead. By which I mean it's dead, but probably repairable. Since it's out of warranty, it's unclear to me how much that might cost. On that note, it seems like my options now are ( Read more... )

Somebody needs to make a snooze button for fire alarms. I'm pretty sure I could make it out the window before anything really bad happened, anyways.

So I counted it up after I got back to Boston on the red eye this morning, and it looks like I've flown something like 21,000 miles over the past four months, hit 7 airports 16 times, and worn a suit on to a flight because I didn't have time to change. Traveling is fun :) although it makes getting work for my classes done much harder.

Even after saying I wasn't going to be involved, and trying to tell as many people as possible that I wasn't going to be involved to force myself to stay out of it, I got involved in Star Wars. Two quotes have made it somewhat worth it ( Read more... )
