I'm sorry to hear that man. The only time I was in a position to really splurge on my family and did, I got a much warmer reception. Unfortunately a lot of what I bought was also technological toys and those always get outdated so now those presents are long gone (it was years ago) but at least they definitely appreciated it at the time.
