I'm confused about what to do about my weekend job. It is, for the moment, three classes of kids' reading/phonics, two on Saturday and one on Sunday, totaling six hours a week. I want to quit so badly, for the following reasons

I do NOT blame you at all. You're in Thailand! This is one hell of an amazing opportunity and it's all sort of for nought if you can't even see any of the country & do exciting thing because you're working so much.
I think that your 3rd option-- giving her 2 weeks to find a replacement-- is MORE than generous. I think that if you don't quit & you stay until October you'll regret it terribly. Sure, she might not like you for it.. but sometimes you can't please everyone and you've got to do what is best for YOU

Yes, this is exactly what my dad says, too. I know you're right... it's just hard for me to do something that I know will inconvenience someone, heh.
Do not keep the job till October. If you don't even need the job, don't keep making yourself miserable. You'll probably feel more positive about the whole Thailand experience if you have more time to breath and wander really experience the place, not just the responsibilities you have in the place.
Children don't comprehend the importance of studying and how their behaviour affects the teacher. They just think making you irritated is fun.
Your boss sounds like a bitch. She has probably planned on not doing anything right now and you'd have thwarted her plans if you quit too early.
Option 3 is the best one, just like the others have said. I bet she'll be able to find a replacement in no time. You can't stay miserable, this is not worth it! Be happy. Quit this awful job. <333
Please do option 3 and don't stay there until October. I would be miserable working ANY job 7 days a week, whether it was a job a liked in the beginning or not. I have a feeling you may even reconsider moving back to Vancouver in October if you actually get some down time. I'm not knowledgeable at all about working in a foreign country, but is there any other job you could do besides TEFL? (And don't feel bad because you don't like it. Depending on the students, I can imagine that TEFL would be very stressful.)

But do you like your weekday high school job? I mean, working seven days a week has got to be exhausting; I hope it's just the weekend job you hate.

Heh, I don't know that I'd go so far as to call her a bitch, but you're probably right that she doesn't want to do anything hiring-wise right now.

Short answer: no.

Heh, I suppose it's possible. That'd be kind of funny.
