Back in Vancouver. Just a few thoughts:

1. Holy fuck it's cold. And the air is so dry! It's awful.

2. Korean Air, despite what you may have read about them in Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers, is a very nice airline. They give you free booze in economy

I know, it's awful. It wasn't that bad when I left Bangkok so it was a total surprise to see all the photos and hear about how bad it is.

I'm glad you're happy to be home and already have a job and an apartment. Your comments about Bangkok are making me nervous for a friend of mine, though. She leaves in about a month to live there for two years working for the State Department.

This is supposedly the worst flood in more than 50 years. I sincerely hope it doesn't happen again next year, but maybe the Thai government will be better prepared, if it does.

Oooh Working at Antons? Nice one!! I still have not been, but I hear endless good things.

It's been super cold lately. They are calling for a "colder than normal" winter. Doesn't thrill me in the slightest. It figures that the winter after you get back from Thailand & I get back from California it would be 'colder than normal'. Bah.

It definitely seems like you got out at the right time. You're lucky you left before all that flooding, because holy shit, it looks insane.
