A society’s greatness is measured by how it treats its lowest member.

(it has always struck me how similarly certain things about the untouchables parallel the treatment of jews in europe during the middle ages; not the same exact jobs, many of the traditionally jewish jobs became traditionally jewish jobs for the same reasons: they were jobs that were thought unfit or unclean for the non-jews)

It's amazing to think that 3000+ years of inherited plight could come crashing down in this century. Also, that is the most level-headed and justifiable wielding of guns that I've ever seen, but holy god I hope India doesn't become an (even more violent) war zone.

Also, while scanning the site for signs of Christianity, I found "in partnership with Indian organizations that actively share God's love and start new believers' fellowships." Damn.

All the free schools are in a Christian line of teaching... still better than nothing I suppose...
