Ringing in the new pope...

Whew, how about this as a start for the brand-new pope?
No objective source here... but there's a law that says I have to quote anything with "Pope dude" in it!

"Last week the artist formerly known as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, laid out his plans for the future of the Catholic church. Benedict spoke of reunifying, reaching ( Read more... )

I hate Benedict XVI, I hate the Catholic church, and I hate anyone who will blindly take their fucking orders from this asshole with no regard for different lifestyles/experiences/religions. Catholicism in itself I don't think is wrong but the way the church has historically and is now being run is atrocious and should warrant a new Nuremburg Trials.

You really seem to blanket your hate over a staggeringly large group of people with shocking ease. Maybe you are the one who has no regard for their lifestyle and the set of beliefs they choose to follow. I don't like many things about the Catholics and their church, but hating them all is rather strong.
As far as warranting another round of the Nuremburg Trials, I suppose you would want that on Pay-Per View? That's really a childish concept considering that the Catholics haven't systematically murdered thirteen million people in the so-called "unwanted" ethnicities.

I'm not a fan of the Mary worshipers by any means, but you can't expect the guy to reach out something blatnatly against the morals of the church. It would be rather blasphemous if he did. The pope has never been a political figure like any other, he isn't in power to be a crowd pleaser. His job is to be the voice of God, and that doesn't always please the masses.
Don't think I'm going Christian conservative on you, I'm just offering their point of view.

Sure, he's a moral leader for some extraordinarily conservative people; however, when one of your goals is to reach out to estranged groups...
He could always just ignore this issue rather than completely condemning it.

That would be the equivalent of you ignoring the problem of the new Pope condemning them. Problems aren't considered problems so that people can pretend that they don't exist.

Perhaps I'm suggesting that it isn't/doesn't need to be a problem?
