I'm not a very social person. When left to my own devices I spend most of my time alone. When I'm alone I tend to be on the internet. (Though sometimes I read a physical book.)

Happy Birthday Robynne!! Enjoy your birthday festivities, sounds like a lot of fun.

And I'm excited your taking C++. I hope you like it. The first time I took it I really struggled with it. Even though I passed the class I decided to re-take it at a later date and since then I really enjoy programming. It's a good way to challenge your brain in new ways and to have a little fun. If you ever need any help debugging or anything feel free to email me as I'm sure I would be able to help.

I'm looking forward to C++, though I am a little nervous about doing my first real programming. I'll contact you if I feel like I need a hand with something.

By the way, I saw your post about trying to come up with an Android app. I haven't come up with any good ideas for you. But I'd be interested to hear what you wind up doing.

I'm sure you'll do just fine. As long as you have a good professor who doesn't try to go too quickly and doesn't cover too much at once that will make it much easier.

As for my final project in Android I think I'm going to do a multi-function timer app that has a regular kitchen timer type timer, a stopwatch, and an event countdown timer. I'll hopefully be able to make it much more flexible and user friendly then a lot of those sorts of apps that are out there now. We'll see how it goes. I might have to condense it down some, but I'd like to be able to do it all.

I heard a rumor that Doctor Who is getting a new companion. Is this true?

Yep! Later this year, Rory and Amy are leaving (fan speculation is that Amy will die, but obviously only the production crew know for certain what will happen) and a woman named Jenna-Louise Coleman will play the next companion. We don't know yet what the character's name will be, but we do know that she'll make her first appearance in this year's Christmas special.
