Do you like Korean?

If so I'd definitely recommend Seoul Garden, in I think Henrietta. I've been out of the country for over a year so I don't remember exactly where. But the food is always great and it's not too expensive but provides a good experience.

As someone living in Asia now I'd recommend doing the cook your own food course, not sure what it's called in the restaurant as it's Yakiniku in Japan. But you can only order it for 2 or more people. It'd be a bit of an original experience.

Hmm I have never tried it, but I like all kinds of food really. I actually was just watching an Anthony Bourdain episode where he was eating realkorean food (which was a LOT of seafood) and it looked amazing.

Also, all I mean by "real korean" food is like...you know, there us actual chinese food and then there is Americanized chinese food ;) totally different

I'm afraid that unless you go to NYC or LA, all you'll find here is the Americanized version of any ethnic food.

What about Valicias Ristorante on Long Pond Rd? Good Italian food there.

Beale Street Cafe in South Wedge is good, they have a website you can check out - it's BBQ stuff.

We also went to Shamrock Jack's in Irondequoit once and that was really good too. It's a steak/bar food kind of place.

have you checked out the Rocwiki? http://rocwiki.org/

Nope, didn't even cross my mind! Thanks I will check that out. The only problem with that is you can't search by location (or at least I haven't figured out how yet!)

If you like Chinese, I'd recommend Shanghai over on West Henrietta Road.
