I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the White Stripes. It certainly sounds like a different crowd than the show I saw, for one thing; but we had seats in the balcony instead of being on the floor, which makes a huge difference. And the set list, I think, is different from what we got; they played "Seven Nation Army" much earlier, as I recall. What struck me is that Jack White didn't really connect with the audience. So it wasn't the best show I've ever seen, and wasn't even as good as I was hoping for, but it wasn't the disappointment you had. Somehow I feel responsible for this-- can you tell

A gay western by Ang Lee-- woohoo! He could actually pull that off, I think. Did you ever see "Ride with the Devil"? No? No one did. Too bad, because it's excellent, although, I hasten to add, not gay.
I saw "Ride with the Devil" which is really strange because years of no television and no money for the cinema means as far as movies go I never see anything. As for Ang Lee's gay western - I've read the short story it is based on and the only gay thing about it is the gay sex. I'm curious about what Ang Lee is going to do with it.

What is the story the Ang Lee film is based on? Is it worth reading?
