This is a quick note to let everyone know that because of some new RL commitments, I won't be able to keep up with lj as much as I may have done previously. This doesn't mean I won't be reading posts and fic or admiring art - just that I'll only be able to check in every couple of days and probably won't have time to comment ( Read more... )

RL commitments ="re-reading Desert Prince", right?

:P, of course.

Max is one of my favorite fictional characters. And let's not think about what it says about me that, as a 12 year old watching the film for the first time, I wanted Michael York to end up with Max and for Liza Minelli's character just to disappear. More proof that slashers are born, not made, I think.

I'd print it out to read elsewhere, but for the fact that it would kill about three trees' worth of paper.

Max was a wonderful character. They all were, though Sally Bowles annoyed me so much when I first saw that film. When I think on it, I disliked her with the same type of teeth-grinding intensity I feel about Amanda. I think Sally, however, is a much better character -- more vulnerable and believable and three-dimensional. Michael York (big nose!) was so pretty as a young man.

And yes, slashers are born, I'm convinced, having been one for as long as I remember.

*mwah!!* right back atcha.

I have been mentally slashing characters from tv/movies/books way before I realised I was doing it :) And lot before knowing there were other people like me.

Yes, so was I. I would never have thought to mention it to anyone, though. Thank God someone invented the internet!

We'll miss you, but that'll only make it even better when RL gives you a break ::mwah::

Thank you, sweetie! And thanks for the hilarious pic of the 'tribute band' you sent.

I'm sure what he's looking for is really so massive that there's barely room for his hand...

Hey, as long as you're still around at all, even if mostly in spirit, I'm happy. And happy for you. Just all around happy, maybe?

Anyway... I remember Max vaguely, mostly because I only saw "Cabaret" once, a long time ago, with my parents. My dad loves it, especially, and I think we've got it on DVD, so I will have to watch it again come winter break. I'm a big fan if Joel Grey, just because he's so very...strange.

Lots and lots of love!
MWAH!

P.S. And here I was, thinking, that Rochefort, she hasn't been around for a while, maybe I should defriend her?

:P

I like it when you're happy, no matter what the reason.

You must watch Cabaret again, as an adult; you'll love it, too. Joel Grey's performance is incredible. He's just too... horrible for words.

And I knew you'd defriend me unless I stopped you!

Mwaaaahhh!!

Oh, no fear, I won't unfriend you. I know too well the feeling of "if I don't post, how will they know I'm still alive?", so I thought I'd reassure you. :)

Thank you! LJ shouldn't induce friending-related stress like this, should it? I always thought it would all just be happy-go-lucky fun...
