You did well -- you got the coolest stuff. But I love my signed picture.

I've got to come up with some new icons.

This icon of yours is the single best -- and possibly most disturbing -- one I've ever seen.

I hope you got some good visuals! Dreaming up stories and plots is a great trick -- wish I could do it. In my most memorable Duncan dream, the two of us were on a date, and just as things were starting to get interesting, a nearby boat blew up and he ran off to rescue everyone. Very frustrating! I'd just like to dream the sequel to that.

Congratulations on the pic. That is a gorgeous shot of him.

I can't answer the Ikea mystery, but I'm familiar with the phenomenon from Target (has Target made it to Britain?). In fact a friend's list of money-saving tips starts with "stay the hell away from Target". However, in the spirit of full disclosure, I feel compelled to mention that my sister's girlfriend works for Ikea. The horror!

is Crème Caramel not the most revolting dish ever invented?

AGREED! I loathe baked milk.

It's one of my favourites of him. There was also a gorgeous evil Duncan pic but I think that went for the highest price of all the pics.

No Target here (yet) and I don't think I remember it from when I've been in the States. Is it the same sort of shop as Ikea?

However, in the spirit of full disclosure, I feel compelled to mention that my sister's girlfriend works for Ikea.

So now you've got access to their entire range at staff-discounted prices? I don't mind them really: they give ordinary people access to good design at reasonable prices (I'm sounding like an ad) but if anything, they're too good at what they do. There was actually a riot in a new one that opened in north London last week over some cheap sofas. No furniture is worth that.

Target has everything for relatively low prices, so it is SO EVIL. They SUCK YOU IN. You can leave the place with everything from socks to bathroom mats to a crap load of gum, and you will always, always convince yourself that you need it, because it's CHEAP. But it's not cheap enough. Last time I went to Target was early September, and I live about five minutes from one. That should tell you something...

My dad sent me a link about the riot, and it scared the crap out of me. PEOPLE WERE ATTEMPTING TO BUY FURNITURE AT 3 O'CLOCK IN THE FUCKING MORNING, what the hell is wrong with them, anyway?

*sigh*

Yes, shopping in Target sounds exactly like the Ikea experience.

Not the Ikea experience in north London, though. That just sounded like a nightmare. I mean, it's only bits of furniture! Just like half the other people in the country have, because they all shop there, too!

Hmm. Maybe furniture is the new rock & roll and I didn't know.

Oh, you're good! That is a NICE picture. And autographed! And, best of all, ALL YOURS! I'm very excited on your behalf. Yay!

And, you know, I've only been to Ikea once (had to buy a futon), and it scared the CRAP out of me. It was huge, and had these strange steps which we were all to follow and risk sudden death by wardrobe, and overall, I loved the stuff, but the experience of actually being INSIDE it was scarring. And, my sister and her husband bought these cute little chairs for Maia, and I volunteered to assemble them. I don't know who the fuck came up with that design, but it took me, my brother-in-law, and a whole lot of skill to put those suckers together.

Heh...sorry... As you can probably tell, I have mixed feelings about Ikea... But it IS Swedish, therefore all right in my book.

And Creme Caramel really does sound nauseating. Then again, apparently I'm not a good judge of food, because I cannot stand ginger and that's Weird. :P

MWAAAAAAAAH!

Thank you, sweetie! I look forward to putting him on my office wall above my monitor, where he'll pleasantly distract me from my work.

It's a bit degrading, too: everybody shuffling round on a circuit like little lab mice. But their furniture for little kids is cute and fun. Assembling it... not so much.

And you don't like ginger? Poor you!

Mwaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!
