I actually knew it was Russell T Davies, so I wasn't surprised...well, I was, but not with him. If you know what I mean. (Hey, is Craig Kelley in it? Or did I imagine things while on IMDB?.. I love him...too cute for words. Even if he's not the most brilliant actor around...)

The strange thing, however, is that I didn't see the kiss. I wonder if it got censored. :o Where exactly in the episode did it take place?

But the reason why it was so important to show it was that it demonstrated better than words, Jack's transformation from the selfish rogue he was when he first met them, into a self-sacrificing hero (still with that broad streak of irony, of course!). And it really all was due to the Doctor's influence, which was what made the kiss so perfect.
If I had a dvd that records (which I don't, alas), I'd send you a full, uncensored copy, just because it's so good. I hope you can at least download it from somewhere.
