Why does George Bush always look as though he's laughing at absolutely everyone except 'his constituency'? And why does he always look as though he's going to go straight back and share a big private joke at the other saps, with all the assorted shady characters to whom he's given tax breaks ( Read more... )

I think people refuse to see the condescension and the smirk because they don't WANT to see it. Americans are terrified of thinking for themselves, so they've got to believe that their leader is trustworthy and will do the thinking for them. It makes me ill.

He always reminds me of those male adolescents who snigger at everything because they don't have the emotional depth or social skills to express any other reaction. I want to slap his stupid face every time I see it. But for people who believe in hands-off government, he is presumably doing just what they want.

In terms of the efficiency and sophistication of the response, it's just like watching the aftermath of the tsunami; but the veneer of civilisation has cracked far quicker in NO than it did in Indonesia. I hope someone can come up with a good reason for that, because there are lessons to be learned. If there were leaders smart enough to learn them.

He is a Frat Boy who never grew up. He's condescending and CRUEL and people are just blind to it. It's sickening.
