Trundling around on the trams on a beautiful evening

Today, Edinburgh had something it's seen very little of thus far this summer: a full day of sunshine. However, I couldn't think of anywhere interesting to go and didn't manage to persuade myself to leave the house until after 7pm, when I decided to use the excuse of a shopping mission to Tesco at Duke Street to go for a trundle around on the trams

That sunset surely is impressive.

The sunset actually took me by surprise. If I hadn't happened to look along that street as I passed by, I might never have noticed it. As I was taking those photos, two other people nearby had their cameras out and were taking photos of the sky too.

Unfortunately, the sunshine appears to have gone now. I've just seen a headline saying that heavy rain is on its way. That's hardly a surprise, mind you!
