Doing well and Kid conflict

Things are going pretty well. Well enough, in fact, that I was doing laundry yesterday and out of habit picked up my gigantic full laundry bag. Then thought to myself, "What are you doing?!?!?" and put it back down! I didn't feel anything hurt, but I did feel sore afterwards. Bah. It's hard for me to remember sometimes that I need to be careful ( Read more... )

This reminds me of a Sammy story. We were in Disneyland when Sam was about 3. We had a rock solid routine where we would like go into the park early and when it was Sam's nap time we would go back to the hotel and hang out at the pool while he napped.

So we are leaving the park when Sam spots cotton candy, which he LOVES, and says, "Mommy, I want that!" I tell him, "Oh baby, that is pure sugar and you don't need that right before you go down for your nap."

So as you can imagine... the looks on people's faces when we are shuttling our toddler out of Disneyland while he is screaming, "I NEED SUGAR! I NEED SUGAR!" at the top of his lungs... Priceless really.

Great story, Isabella. I've been telling Zoom that cotton candy is pink spider webs. :-)

Kamille - your comments are just great. We don't ever know the whole story. The one thing I really, really can't stand to see, though, is parents ignoring kids. Some of them may have the idea that you're supposed to ignore tantrums - I don't iknow, but it's the kid who's being ingnored. It's hard to watch - I'd actually rather hear out0-and-out conflict.
So glad you are feeling better, please take it easy! much love to you.
