So I'm doing research for my presidency paper, and I am disgusted to discover that 72% of people polled think that there should be a law requiring that the husband of a married woman be notified is she decided to have an abortion. I would have to say when weighing the pros and cons of each option, that elected officials should perform their actions/duties based on the beliefs of the majority of their constituents.

I'd have to say the opposite. A person should always perform their actions based on their own personal beliefs.
