I watched some of the speech and then just gave up on this weird insane idea I had that the man might actually make any sensible points. I feel like every time he speaks in public, God kills a kitten.

As for cutting Haven's fingers: I've done it. To both kids. More than once. Their little teeny fingers are just so weeny, and they're squirmy - argh. Anyway, don't beat yourself up. Either you were going to cut her and she'd bleed, or her fingernails would get so long that she'd scratch her own eyes out. You know, or something.

thank you, that helps. i just went to daycare to check on her again. she has a tiny little bandaid on it and it is still hurting her. i feel HORRID. but she does scratch at her face when they are long. and she pulls on her eyelids regardless despite my pleas. my poor little girl.
