I did tell you the story of the group of kids at the pool laster year, 11-ish year olds, standing in a circle around a boy who was saying, "I'd fuck you, you, you. I wouldn't fuck you." and so forth, right? Urgh.

once upon a time in elementary school I was also given a very stern lecture about kicking boys...it was such a fun classtime pastime while it lasted. I sympathize.

but seriously, I spent half the summer working with seven year olds who were trading boyfriends with each other...and one of my girls refused to be friends with other girls because they would "steal her boyfriends from her." seriously. what is with seven years olds these days.

I was like that, too! I didn't wear makeup until high school, and by my junior year I just quit wearing it to school so I could have more time to sleep. I still don't wear makeup every day...to be honest I wear it maybe once or twice a week, three times max. I think it has a lot to do with the way a child's parents handle the situation as well. There were rules in my house about makeup, boyfriends, etc. I knew from day one that I wasn't going to school dances or wearing makeup until 8th grade, and that I wasn't dating until I was 16.
