[Azula can only practice her technique so many times before it becomes counter-productive. She needs something to do and as she's already thoroughly explored the village, she's considering taking a look in the woods soon. As it is, she's managed to talk with Roku a few times - but she still hasn't seen her brother, which is slightly bothersome ( Read more... )

[Well, John is in the item store today, glancing through the selection of electronics made available recently. He hasn't bothered to actually pick any of this stuff out to take home, having been living by himself. He has a feeling that won't last long. So it might be time to upgrade the facilities. The question is, should his toaster have two slots or four?

At the moment he's not in his Green Lantern uniform and is in simple civvie clothes. He's not wearing sunglasses though, so his weird slightly glowing eyes are a bit odd.]

[Azula is sorting through the piles and comes up with a hand mirror. She turns it over in her hands for a moment before slipping it into her belt. It's not as good as the one from home (nothing here is), but it will have to do.

She glances over at John curiously. She has no idea what the electronics are for. No one's bothered to tell her about electricity yet, although she's figured out the lights in her apartment. His eyes do draw some attention though.]

...what makes your eyes glow like that? I've never seen it before.

[Well, there was the Avatar. But he doesn't count.]

[Oh children. Always so direct with their questions. He's interrupted from his deliberation and glances over to look down at her. His answer is equally blunt]

Longterm exposure to a certain kind of radiation.

Radiation?

[She's not heard that word before. For a moment she considers.]

I don't think I'm familiar with the concept.

[Bern is at the market herself today, looking for some small biscuit treats and tea leaves. Alas, these biscuits will never live up to the quality of the types of treats that demons can create, but they will have to do for now. She might just find herself bumping into Azula, while glancing through the shelves in a sort of daze.]

[Azula turns with an irritated look on her face.]

Watch where you're going.

[She hates having to walk around with all the common folk.]

[Bern turns to look at Azula, her dull purple eyes almost boring into the other. What should she say? "Sorry" might sound right, but at the same time those words never came out very easily from her mouth. Even then Bern can tell from that annoyed look that Azula might not even care for apologies.]

......My mistake. It seems the variety of tea leaves caught me off guard for a moment.

[Azula taps her foot, hands settling on her hips. It' not exactly an apology, but it' close enough.]

Just be more careful next time.

[ 'Sup, Azula. Jet's watching you carefully from behind a stack of barrels. You look pretty yet also strangely familiar. He's going to stalk you a bit until he figures you out.]

[Well, she isn't doing anything too interesting. Just browsing through the shops and picking out mall things that interest her - he has a hand mirror in her belt and she's picking out some of the more expensive-looking clothing if she can help it. Mostly shades of red and orange, it seems.

She also pauses at one point to examine another mirror, but she puts it back down. Nothing important. She may or may not be onto him.]

[Hmm...fancy-pants taste, seems to like "hot" colors... Those colors are rather Fire Nation-y too. Damn it, he will be right about someone here being an evil Firebender! They can't all be harmless.

Jet's not exactly out of sight as he shifts over a barrel so he can get a better look.]

[Action] It's the climate. They just produce more cute women then the other nations. rocket_feet April 21 2010, 01:28:09 UTC
[Azula carefully puts down the more bulky objects so she has her hands free and then turns around, eying Jet.]

Yes?

[There's something about the woman which immediately and unnervingly reminds Leto of Alia. He notices this as he's holding up a crysknife. A rather primitive looking blade but extraordinarily sharp.

His gaze surreptitiously follows hers, noting what weapons she likes.]

[She doesn't seem to even glance at the weapons. Instead, she simply moves past them with a smooth, practiced grace.]

Ah... excuse me..!

[A quick look in the voice's direction and Azula might notice someone interesting. A tall man dressed in white robes of a priest is making his way past the various stands in the marketplace. One of his hands is already occupied by a rather plump bag, but that doesn't slow him down! Instead, he politely apologizes to another person and moves on to the next food stand.]

Excuse me! I would like this and this and this..!

[Why, looks like someone is shopping for a small crowd.]

What are you doing? Cooking a feast?

[It's an offhand, slightly cutting remark. She doesn't particularly care either way.]

Ah..?

[Castor, on other hand, turns toward her and offers the kindest, most sincere and caring smile in the universe. It is clear that he cares a lot, even if he has no particular reason to.]

Oh, nothing of the sort. I'm just trying to feed my... family, of sorts.
