U.S. obesity crisis

so i'm out running today, and it occurs to me. when i go running, which is usually 20-30 minutes, 3 times a week, i will see maybe a couple of people on bikes, perhaps a runner or two, but often none. then, i think about the numbers of fast food cups and wrappers i see blowing around on the ground. and people wonder why united statesers are so ( Read more... )

they just all need to go on the atkins diet. sure everyone will be malnourished, putty-brained and have probably die of heart failure at 40, but damn they'll all look great!

blah, i hate the atkins diet. i'm so damned tired of seeing "low carb" this and that everywhere. people need to realize, carbs are what give you energy. the problem isn't that people eat too many carbs, the problem is they sit around too much after they eat said carbs. the atkins people are down at the fast food too, getting their bun-less burgers and tortilla-less tacos. and by the way, i thought people have been rather putty-brained for a while now ;-)

you are so right, haha. and i realized that after i had said it already.

yeah, i'm sick of it too, especially the commercial with the pro women's basketball player talking about low carb food. fucking ridiculous. it's one of the tricks of the trade to load up before a game, even i know that.
