My first TI article

A couple days ago, I was contacted by Nadezhda, our kingdom seneschal. She had a request from "Tournaments Illuminated" for An Tir's entry into the "Kingdom News" items that have been running for the last year or so in TI. Each article is an introduction to a kingdom for residents of all the other kingdoms.

I love how you had two author bios! Not having read the newsletter in question: does everyone do that?

Yep, that's the way they usually do it. It's the only widely-distributed publication I can think of that does, BTW.

If they have room on the same page, they might stick it there, otherwise they list the bios on a "contributions" page, with references to the page the article starts on. Same for photographers and illustrators.

If they do that, then at the end of the article itself they only use the one line of names, and you have to go the the credits page to find out the rest.

FWIW, I think the froofy boys spell it "landsknecht", from what I've seen.

Actually, we're both right, in a way. But you're more right than I am.

Landsknecht is the proper German spelling, and you're right - it should probably be spelled that way. Lansquenet is what the French called them, and it refers to both the German mercenaries and a card game. I remember the card game from the book that the movie "Dangerous Liaisons" was based on. Of course, that spelling is what stuck in my head when I was writing...
