Yesterday was awesome. I went in (extremely) early & was off work by 11am, and I had absolutely NOTHING to do for the rest of the day. It just so happened that Stephen Malkmus was playing down in San Diego (my old stomping grounds) that evening. You just made me SUPER jealous and homesick.

Another LJ friend was just in SD and he posted pix, including one from inside Off the Record, Hillcrest.

I'll be back out there in August, but it doesn't seem like soon enough when I read posts like yours.....

That's funny. I actually remembered a post of yours awhile back talking about San Diego Mexican food when I was writing this.

It was really good to get back there.

i never miss california...you made me want it.
last time i was there..was a whirlwind. mexico.san diego...walking in the sand at night at mission beach...roller coaster...boardwalk kids with their girlfriends and boyfriends in tow...the moon reflecting off of the waves...it was beautiful...the tacos...el pastor...cilantro onion lime maybe nothing else...maybe some of those dope pickled hot ass onions carrpts and peppers...i dont know what that is called though...and ice cold horchata. yum. ok so i miss california a bit....seattle has its lovley qualities as well...have you been here before?

You know, Seattle is the place that I dream about visiting, and even moving to if I wasn't so chicken.

How long have you lived there? What made you leave California?

ive lived here since 92...
i moved away fro one year to Portland...to see if I could stay away..well ive been back for a year and a half now...guess that answered that question...the summers are beautiful...your like a 40 minute drive to the mountains...40 minute drive to the ocean...its amazing.
Ill find it VERY difficult to move anywhere else...if you ever decide to visit..let me know..
ill put you and friends up in my fancy shmancy apartment...save a few bucks instead of paying for a hostel or hotel...come in the summer...youll see how beautiful it really is...not too hot not cold..not humid...i dunno its so hard to figure out...and i love it...and hate it at times...i was in heaven i was in hell.

bah! in my hood and you didn't even call... pssh! just kidding i know you dont have the number. its weird... i was supposed to go to the malkmus show and completely forgot about it. :(

No, I didn't go to Pokez...but I did have a fat burrito at El Rodeo in OB. YUM!

I did tell my friend that I was with that I wouldn't be surprised if I saw someone from LJ at the show & I kept my eyes peeled looking for you. It was just a spur of the moment decision to go down there...I'll be back.
