That picture kinda reminds me of when I went to this house party, maybe a year or more ago, and these bands were just playing outside in this guy's backyard. The guy owned a venue a couple of blocks away and just decided to have the show in his own backyard instead of at the place. He got random people walking around the neighborhood to come (and the loud music probably attracted people) and let all comers at his beer supply for free. It was pretty nice, sitting in the grass watching some random band play for awhile. We didn't stay too long, since we were actually on our way to another party, but it was cool.

dear rockingrly grl

i too was there last night and you just hit it with your nice review. the show was like little twinlkey stars blinking against a rasberry colored sky...it was dreamy and the sound was perfect and their graphics helped the whole mood come together as one.

that was elliott smith onstage, yep yep. my guess is about 80 pounds...more than a little sad to see him like that but also amazing to see him at all...right?

Dear Miss Ellica,

Why, thank you! I take this as a compliment 'cause your posts are always so right-on...

80 lbs. WOW. That was my first time ever seeing Elliott in the flesh...everytime I go to see him, I'm too late and he's sold out--including last time he was here w/Grandaddy.

Speaking of Grandaddy, why aren't there 4 "D"'s (GranDDaddy), instead of only three?

every time we go to a show i wanna post a review on lj. then i check out your entry and decide that i couldn't really say it any better. and this grandaddy review is certainly no exception. so i'll just leave you with this thought on musical history.

rolling stones is to dandy warhols,
as grandaddy is to pink floyd.

mullet over.
