Everyone knows when Luna puts her Ravenclaw mind to something the result tends to be one of two things. It is either so profound you're at a loss for words OR so absurd it's brilliant therefore rendering you incapable of speaking. Either way, she adores the gaping fish look that seems to cross people's faces after one of her well plotted out endeavors. The fishy look she got on this particular day though would go down in the history books as a 'so good I wish I had of had my Kodak camera' moment.
She was humming to herself contently as she made her way to the Great Hall. It had been a long night and she was looking forward to breakfast. So when Trelawney stopped her she almost groaned. "I know it's much too early for anyone to have done anything requiring my Headgirl duties, so what can I do for you?"
"Professor Flitwick would like to see you in his office Miss Lovegood." Trelawney pushed her glasses up on her nose and simply stared at Luna.
"M'assuming 'would like to see' translates into now...and not after Breakfast."
"You'd be correct my dear girl, now hurry on..."
Pushing her thoughts of breakfast aside, she yawned as she made her way to Flitwick's office. It didn't cross her mind to be worried about why he wanted to see her. Then again, there wasn't much that did worry her. She was still humming when she entered her Professor's office.
"You wanted to see me Professor?" She asked in her almost whimsical voice as she took a seat.
A very distraught looking Flitwick cleared his throat and began to read from the piece of paper on his desk.
"To whom it may concern. I am sure you are well aware that the Triwizard Tournament's challenges have always been both dangerous and compelling. I am also sure that fine committee members such as yourself appreciate any feedback from the public that comes your way. As a student who will be attending the tournament, I have a suggestion that I think you will be very interested in...." Flitwick faded off for a moment "I think we both know how the rest of it goes."
"Professor...." She began her expression as innocent as it could be.
He quickly interrupted her. "There's even a petition with over a hundred signatures. Young lady this event is not a laughing matter!"
"Professor I...."
"Further more, I've tolerated a great deal of misconduct from you and the two boys you have chosen to associate yourself with. THIS will not go unaddressed." He was obviously worked up a great deal over this, but frankly she was irked over being interrupted.
"Professor!" She exclaimed, her voice just a little more assertive than normal.
Blinking he finally stopped his pacing and looked at her.
"Thank you. Now since there is only one petition I know of that was circulating the school, I assume that because you found my name on it you automatically thought that I was responsible for the letter in question as well. To be quite honest with you I signed the petition because I'm a typical teenage girl and the idea of the suggested task is so promising that any girl would have signed her name."
"Yes but..."
It was Luna's turn to interrupt. "As far as I'm concerned? The idea is bloody brilliant."
"Mrs. Lovegood you don't...."
"So brilliant that I wish it was my own, but alas I have no claim over it." She stood up and tucked her wand behind her ear. "Unless you have solid proof that I am the one who is responsible for this particular act of 'misconduct', which I am sure you do not, I would like to go eat breakfast now."
He opened his mouth to speak but clamped it shut and looked as if someone had used the Confundus charm against him. Grumbling something under his breath he nodded and waved his hand.
"Good day Professor." She said sweetly . "And oh when you find out who's brain that amazing idea came from? Do tell them how brilliant they are." With that she turned and walked out of his office, the smirk on her face only noticeable by the paintings hanging on the wall. When one of them shook their head at her, she put her finger to her lips and winked. After all, she hadn't lied completely. The idea to have the first task be a STRIP OFF hadn't been hers originally.
