Never let it be said that Zacharias Smith is observant. He's not. Well, sometimes, when it benefits him, but this wasn't one of those times. He was more interested in pay attention to what was going on in his own head

Marlow hadn't been going anywhere in particular. She'd been heading from class and contemplating if it was a good idea to spend the rest of the day planning out the next semester or a better one to just call it quits and take a nap. She was leaning more towards nap time, really, if she was being honest.
It was lucky she heard the voice call out, otherwise she was sure she'd have a concussion or something. However, she'd turned around at precisely the right moment and caught the Frisbee in her arms. It was an odd catch, one that hit her slightly in the stomach, but she caught it all the same.
Looking up, she caught sight of Zacharias Smith. She should have known.
"Playing by yourself, Smith?" she asked before throwing the Frisbee back toward him. "It's not really that kind of game."
If it had to go flying at someone, figures that it was going to be Marlow Linney. At least she was mildly entertaining some of the time.
Zacharias shrugged, snatching the Frisbee out of the air much more easily than she had, granted he saw it coming.
"Then play with me," Riah called back, leer and suggestion heavy to accompany the statement. "Besides, there's a goal to throwing this around by myself. It usually works better when I don't aim at someone's head." Even if he hadn't been aiming, he wasn't going to freely admit to having just tossed the thing in any random direction.
"Let me guess," Marlow began, before coming a few steps closer and dropping her knapsack at her feet. "Some new way to attract women? I'm not sure whacking them in the face is going to garner you a date."
She raised an eyebrow, wondering if Zacharias was a unique sort of man, or if all the other ones she knew were just hiding a very dark, maybe perverted secret. She clapped her hands together, figuring the last time she played Frisbee was maybe before she reached puberty.
But oh, if playing Frisbee on the Quad wasn't a cliche uni thing to do.
Mostly, he just did it so he could accio it back and it didn't require much thought, not like when he logged extra Quidditch practice to try to work off whatever was bothering him. That wasn't nearly as interesting, though.
"I don't normally hit them. You just have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time." Plus, sometimes it did get him attention from girls who were nearby. He wasn't sure how that one worked but Zacharias was going to figure it out one day, somehow.
He tossed it back, the aim much better now that he was actually paying attention to what he was doing and had an actual target. "Do you actually have aim or am I going to be running all over trying to catch this?"
