I'm sitting here trying to write down my new years resloutions and I'm about half way through but my mind keeps wondering. I keep asking myself in my head about the research I have been doing for my trip to the Pacific Northwest. The question that keeps entering my mind is What makes Portland Weird?

It is unofficially the weirdest city in the U.S.

I have mixed feelings about Portland - I can't quite figure out if I like it there or not. At the risk of sounding bitter, the main reason for that indecisiveness is my ex - we had a TON of horrible experiences there, and only a few.

I know what you mean, sometimes having a bad time even if it is just once can ruin a city not because of the city but because of the personal experience.

I've got photo evidence of McMenamins. The pub crawl was planned before you mention, and many beers will be tried with a notebook so help me.... I'm at 3 so far, with photo or matchbook evidence, except the first, which was a good german style brewery.

I've apparently lost my mind... I sent your message, but it actually told me to go to some... oh yes, no, you mentioned the Mystery Hole. What the fuck is that? wtf? Seriously how did you hear about this shit, and why should I go there? I honestly, am totally down with the concept, but how the hell do I rationalize that with my compatriots? I mean, yo, hey guys, let's go to the mystery hole! My crowd just isn't THAT hip. I'm down, they're WTF??? So, give me a good explanation, and I'll steer the bus :D
