I'm counting down the days till January... not that I don't love the holidays or the seasonal business boom, but I need Need NEED to focus major time to the website and developing new designs. I've got a sketchbook full of new pieces I want to make and though I've started some, I just can't seem to bundle enough spare moments to finish anything.

I do use a very small family owned company for my actual castings (though I carve the prototypes myself) since the lost wax process uses very expensive and large machinery. I'm not even allowed to have that equipment in my personal studio because the landlord is worried that I will blow up the building.

It's a pretty intense process but after you spend 20 hours on the prototype, you can make a mold and skip that first step. The rest is metalsmithing and beading.
