I'd be curious to hear if they reply at all.

To be honest I've never had any issues with Live, but I've never had to call their customer support either. I could see how the credit card thing would be annoying though. I used one of the pre-paid Live cards because they were on sale for $35 on Buy.com one day so I figured I couldn't go wrong with that. I've yet to enter my credit card info in for anything, I suppose if I ever buy Marketplace points I'll just buy a pre-paid card for that as well.
