Steve's older sis did the whole Vegas thing, but it actually looked like a tasteful wedding. They're not always like the movies, maybe it'll be nicer than anticipated?? Hope you have fun! At least you get to be apart of it.
HA! I can tell you from being in the "weding planning" mode that eloping might be kind of nice...HA! I would miss having my friends there and all but it's a WHOLE lot cheaper and you could always throw a nice big party after to celebtare with everyone still. All I am saying is that eloping would have been SO much easier;) I am sure it will be a nice wedding, just be happy for her:)
Oh yeah...and one of the reasons we didn't elope(because we totally would have)was because that's how David did it last time and he wanted to have a wedding the "real" way. Maybe since your mom has already been married having a "wedding" isn't as important has whats actually happening. She is just wanting to be joined together with her love in a simple way:) and doing it differently the second time around makes it a new experience.
Suzy, you will have a great time at your wedding & the waiting makes it all the more great :)
That being said, if I was going to be married a 2nd time (not planning on it, but if I was widowed or something like that...God forbid, but anyway...) I would likely not do the traditional thing again. It would probably be smaller and in a backyard or something. I don't know because like I said I don't really think about it! ha
I used to hate the idea of eloping, but since being married you really realize how little the wedding phoof matters. Though I do think I'd want to include my loved ones at least. I do know a couple at our church who eloped in the Bahamas, and in their situation I thought it was nice. They have a great memory now & on the other hand it's kind of neat it's something only the two of them shared. They did have a celebration later on for their families...
anyway, ceremony or not, after it's all said and done the important thing is the marriage really :)
oh, that being said...obviously I'm for eloping if it's for the right reasons. Eloping when you're 17 & horny or something like that, not so much. haha
