Okay, I'm looking for advice here. As you may recall, I've just been charged for parking maintenance fees for each of the two spots that came with my condo. Since I rent one of my spaces, should that person be paying any/all/part of the fee for their space? Don't say yes because you think I deserve the money, I'm talking from a legal standpoint.

Do you have a rental agreement with the renter? I think having them pay the fees is probably something you would have had to discuss with them beforehand, from a legal standpoint. But I bet if you approached them about splitting the costs or something, they might agree to it. it seems reasonable.

I think the extent of our agreement is a letter I wrote with the rent amount saying that I wouldn't raise it for a year and if/when I did he would get 30 days notice. But I think your idea's good. I'll ask him to split it this year and say that in the future, because the amount varies based on snow removal expenses, that he will pay any amount that is over the cost of one month's rent.
