Winterness Suggestions?

Well I finished my training class that kept me buried in studying for the past 10 days, yeah! Now I can take the state real estate boards but it will take a week or so to get that scheduled. Real estate isn't doing better than much else in this county but at least it is something I really enjoy. Hopefully things will start turning around with a ( Read more... )

I like Encore. Cheap. Enough wool for warmth but not so much that you can't toss it in the washer. Paton's shetland chunky is nice too - for the same reasons I gave for Encore.

Neither hold their shape well so I would knit them tightly

Thanks, I like the idea of wool blends but wondered how they would hold up, and the washing machine is a definite bonus. I don't mind handwashing anything but I was thinking about that again with something afghan size - that may be a bit much - or at least highly entertaining lol.

I will add both to the mix to check them out, thanks for the warning about knitting tightly.

Shell patterns look so nice with the varieties of different yarns. It sounds like a great addition if you are re-doing everything for your room :)

I'm actually considering doing something almost free form - there's a picture on the cover of Socks-Socks-Socks of what looks like free form spirals, I just think something like that would be wonderful in a throw/afghan. Then again, I'm nuts :)
