Yes, my life really is like a bad country song right now, why do you ask?

Well a big ol' journey is nearing its end. I am still not exactly happy about it yet but these things take time.

I mean, I liked the old journey. I understood it. It was familiar. It was comfortable. It included food, shelter and independence. You see, I used to be an active member of society happily contributing my share in support of capitalism. I was employed, rather well too. I bought a very nice home and spent the last few years indulging my creative needs by studying interior design and creating an ecclectic haven of style and function that I love. I enjoyed my friends and family and spent a great deal of time in animal rescue fostering 27 dogs and working with them to find them loving forever homes. It was alot of fun.

It ended when I got laid off in March. Ain't no thang..... well maybe it is. I'm still looking for a job and had to meet with the lawyers today to file bankruptcy. The real estate market fell out in my area as well and I'm losing my home. My savings is wiped out trying to stay afloat and I will basically have nothing more than I did when I entered this world except lucky for you they let me keep my clothes so I'm not wandering the world naked and frightening small children. And I still have my K9 babies Lily and Kya. Yeah, just the two. On top of everything this week, I lost my battle to save my little guy Barclay and had to say good bye to him on Saturday. So yeah, my dog died too. Good thing nothing happened to the truck........

At peace at last
Barclay 1999 - 2005 I love you little man!

God I loved that goofy dog! Damn, I'm going to start crying again. Ok so that's a little about where I'm at today. Bright side? I can do anything, absolutely anything as long as I can support myself and find room for the dogs. My sister is moving from Italy to Maine at Christmas and I thought I might move out there to check it out. The economy here is worse than anywhere other than Katrina areas so it could be a good thing. If nothing else, it's an adventure and I've been longing for a new adventure so I've got one now eh? If you were in these shoes, what adventure would appeal to you? Any ideas are welcome! :)
