1) Essential rules
- - Amount of recs you can post: minimum: 3; no maximum.
- Don't post more than 2 recs in one day.
- Make sure you drop a line to the person you've recced with a link! [Blurb]

- Make sure the work you'd like to rec hasn't been recced before. You can check that by pressing ctrl+f on our spreadsheet.

- Tip: pressing ctrl+a while the cursor is in a text box will select all of the box's contents.
Note: There's currently an issue with lj creating linebreaks. It's a reported bug. Ideally the rec would be formatted like [this]

We strongly recommend that you copy and paste the above to LJ's HTML editor, and only switch back to the Rich Text once you filled out the form.
- The subject line of all recs should be formatted like so:
[Fanwork type] creator: Title, e.g.: [Fic] evitably: Caressing Clavicles
For 'fanwork type' insert: fic, art, vid, podfic, graphics, meta, poetry, fanmix, craft, other
- The "[ YOUR CATEGORY ]" field under the header is for the category that you signed up for.
Please fill it in like [ Dean/Castiel ], [ J2 ], [ Gen ].
If you have a category that is more open like Random, Invited Reccer, Het, etc you may add a modifier to clarify the content of your rec, like:
[ Het: Dean/Lisa ], [ Minor Character: Victor Henriksen ] or [ Invited Reccer: Sam/Dean ]
Open reccers: Fill in the category that you think fits best.
5) Tag your rec
- Two tag groups are mandatory for recs:

Please note that since the pairings Sam/Dean, Dean/Castiel and Jared/Jensen have their own categories, they don't have additional "p:" pairing tags. You can tag them with the *-marked category tags even if you are posting your rec within another category.
During Open Reccing (June/December): Tag your post with "*open reccing" and additional category tags as you see fit. (If you rec for Rarest or were invited by the mods, this doesn't apply to you.)
You can find all of our existing and previously used tags at our default tag page. Tags that already exist but haven't been used yet can be found at the regularly updated tag page, where you can also request tags.
6) Let your reccee know they were recced!
- You can use this blurb as a base to let the creator know about your rec:

7) Optional
- If you want to link to user handles outside of livejournal you might want to use these additional codes. This is definitely not a must-use but we thought we'd offer it as an option to those of you who are more html-savvy and like cute icons.
Replace all the 'username' parts in the code with the handle you want to link!
