I know this may not be typical of all situations in which I will find myself,
but the men with whom I work do not take me seriously.
I hate it.
They placate me, and treat me like a little girl who doesn't know what she's talking about.
It's because I'm young, I'm female, and I'm new to the miltary.
All the men in my class treat things that I say as if

I kinda feel the same way.
not to that much severity, but the same way-ISH.

I just got a new job on the shipyard
and I got hired just after two other guys
and one of them is a complete idiot.
so I'm being treated as if I'm just like him
but it's worse because I'm female so they think I can't lift stuff or get dirty or anything.

grace, they're probably just intimidated by you so they try to make you feel stupid because it makes them feel better. do what i do when someone makes me feel stupid and i know i didn't deserve it; laugh and say, "all right then."
