i miss you guys SO much, it's basically ridiculous. i was happy to hear your message the other day.
soooooo in the final two weeks of my internship, i need you to do me a HUGE favor. go to www.smithsonianglobalsound.org or www.folkways.si.edu and go pick out a CD that you want. we seriously have everything in the world just about. yessi, too, although if for some bizarre reason she can't find anything she's dying to have, i can find something else to bring back for her. :D
oh my gosh i was just browsing that site, and it is so fun i can't even believe it. someday when i'm rich i'm just going to sit around and download all day!
i know, right? they have the weirdest stuff on there. yesterday i was trying to contact an artist who made an album of bug noises ("sounds of insects"). apparently the one with wasps chewing is really creepy from what i've read, unfortunately my computer here doesn't have speakers so i couldn't freak out the other people in the office. hehehe.
pick a cd! i'll mail it to you. consider it a graduation gift. ;)
I'm having trouble deciding between "The Flatulent Folk Songs of the Flatulent People of South-East Villesburgania" and "Music of the Miskito Indians of Honduras and Nicaragua." That's if I can't find marimba music from Nicaragua. My first choice was kebyar music from Bali, but I couldn't find any.
