It amuses me to no end that the majority of the music I grew up on was motown, funk and soul, disco. My first taste of rock'n'roll was my parents vinyl collection,  I did not own my first cassette tape until I was 12, and it was stolen as was the majority of my (what my mother deemed "secular" music) tape collection

I grew up listening to the "Grease" soundtrack, myself. Then got into classical music. Didn't really hear any popular music until I went to college in the late 90's. And I take it your parents were Christian too? ;)
