WE WANT THE FUNK!!

Mar 09, 2010 14:22

Learning bass is tricky, learning funk bass is damn near insurmountable!

I can say with honesty that funk bass is 1/4 technique, 1/4 groove, 1/4 finger strength, 1/4 Feeling.

Just popping and slapping dont make it funky, takes some love makin' to make it funky.

Rudimentary bass yes, but I want to do things with it like Stanley Clarke, Louie Johnson, James Jamerson and Bernard Edwards.

What I'm trying to say is playing scary bass that will make most guitarists piss themselves with fear.

I mean, you've only listed 4 quarters, here. For something to be truly hardcore, it has to be at least six quarters. Like, another quarter sequins, and another quarter Moses. X)
