handprints

It took me 10weeks, but I finally got Colton and Daphne's handprints and footprints done. I tried to do it at 2weeks and nearly dropped Daphne...it was just way too difficult. Both kids were really grumpy yesterday and I figured it was now or never. Better to do something that'll piss them off when they are already mad :P I think I did a good job. ( Read more... )

I was a little evil and took a piece of two sided tape. I pressed it firmly to the palm of my hand and then gently tapped it onto the back of the kids fingers..it helped keep their hands open a little bit. I definitely got silver ink all over myself too!

I was hoping our hospital would do the prints for us, I know quite a few places do. But, Milford did nothing. I really wanted to do this right after birth...Daphne was so teeny tiny, but better late than never. You could definitely still do it now if you wanted to!

Those are great handprints! It took me about six tries to get a decent one when Micah was a newborn. It was nearly impossible to keep his little hand uncurled long enough to press it to the paper, so it looks like he's missing half a pinky. :P

That is so cute! My son had his done at the hospital and then we did an impession in clay at a few months old. I love the way you did it though, what a great keepsake!
