They are closing I-80 from Des Moines to the Illinois border tomorrow. WTF?! I hate the feeling of being stranded. Granted, I have no plans to go home anytime soon, as I was just there, but what if something were to happen ( Read more... )

Thanks! I am only about 1/2 a mile or so from the Raccoon River, but I don't think we are on a floodplain. Thet are calling for "alertness" if you live along the 500 year floodplain . . . that is ridiculous!!!

I honestly would NOT be surprised!!!

This is how I see it playing out:

Currently, the ground is totally saturated with rain water. Let's say there is a cemetery in a low-lying area. And the flood waters come . . . Now, we have a situation where it would be POSSIBLE for the caskets to emerge from the soft soil and "float" in the water. Now, let's say another TORNADO comes and passes right over the cemetery, opening up the caskets and flinging dead bodies everywhere. That would be pretty damn close to a zombie attack!!!
