i called james yesterday and talked to him. he gave me a really stupid excuse for the messaging i found, and then proceeded to grovel his heart out... he said he's completely give up the internet if that's what i wanted

This is a good start although I would add or a amend a few things to that list.

Good for you and if he screws up again you KNOW you have a safe haven here with us. Stick to your guns in what you say and don't back pedal even if he says I'm sorry. If he fucks up he is done. End of story. Poly relationships is about communication and trust and honesty. Not free reign to go out and screw everything that gets you going.
