Notes borrowed from Gigiss with my notes added
Elder HOLLAND: There is sunshine in my soul today…!
Hold tenaciously to this line: Jesus listening can hear… the songs we cannot sing. Sometimes we need to stand silent for a time and listen to the music of others. Stand as close as humanly possible to the Savior and Redeemer of the world - after all, He does have perfect spiritual pitch. When we disparage our uniqueness because of stereotypes, we do nobody any service. We are unique; we are all irreplaceable. Don’t let any children of God suffer in silence, especially those struggling with depression and mental and emotional illness. Pray and hope for a better world. There is room in this gospel for everyone - for everyone who loves God, and treasures His commandments. “Come as you are,” says the Father, “but don’t plan to stay as you are…” God’s plan is a plan for our exaltation, our growth and eternal development.
ELDER GARY B. SABIN: A disturbance in the force....camping in the car...we need to stand up on the inside, come what may. Stand up, defend Fathers plan: It was a conference talk. I don't remember ever hearing quotes from Star Wars before. He also talked about going on a Boy Scout camping trip and staying in his regular sleeping area...his car. The comment about standing up in the inside when the outside of us is not togetherr, come what may. We always need to stand up and defend the Fathers plan. .Gigiss notes follow: "Conference is a time of redirection. His GPS: “Recalculating route… when possible, make a legal U-Turn.” Turn from sin; don’t hold back and try to get through repentance by giving as little of your heart as possible. Don’t freeze for hours just to save five minutes of work…! In reality, it is much easier to be All In than to try and be partially into the effort of repenting and living a committed life. Look for the humility and faith of a little child: they are All In. Tennyson: My strength is as the strength of ten, because my heart is pure. “Stand up on the inside” - that’s the way to withstand the thorns of mortality. If we’re not able to be All In at the pace we are currently walking, maybe we need to run. The have great assurance: don’t fear, just live right. The BYU Football VCR method of “perfect knowledge”. "
ELDER NEIL L. ANDERSEN: These are they who have overcome the world… What are the blessings of overcoming the world? Sincere repentance is liberating. Those who deny accountability will always be stung by the consequences which they cannot escape. Overcoming to God is measured though ordinances and covenants. Overcoming the world is interconnected with our focus on Christ and His peace. It means turning ourselves outward. Overcoming the world doesn’t need social validation; it is a serenity to keep firm in the faith when nobody else seems to care
