I heard this radio jockey say that he had a zillion requests for Sandler's Hanukkah Song, but that the previous night was the first night and he had played the song once then. Despite repeated calls for that song, any more would be too much and listeners would get sick of it ( Read more... )

I don't think it has anything to do with Judiasm, I think Adam Sandler is just annoying :P

I don't think it has anything to do with Judaism either. It has to do with mainstream culture self-identifying by way of distancing itself from anything Other*. Regardless of whether or not Sandler is annoying, I find the Christmas music (or at least its stubborn omnipresence) annoying.

*I identify with Other, and one of the ways I do this is by distancing myself from the mainstream.

What kills me the most about Christmas music is that the radio also thinks that Chanukah always falls during Christmas time. I too heard Sandler's Chanukah song... however, the time I heard it was during Christmas day and not even during Christmas. Chanukah occurred the beginning of December this year. Can't the disc jockeys bend a little?
