Some of you may know what DRM's are, many of you probably don't.  DRM stands for Digital Rights Management, and it refers to any system of copyright control on digital media, obviously put in place to prevent piracy.  Although "well intentioned", DRM's tend to be extremely limiting to the consumer, and to me are detrimental to the entire process ( Read more... )

I don't really feel that final comment was appropriate, but Jarrett's letter was certainly on the ball.

You might have heard about this: http://www.di.fm/blog/read/2007/03/new-music-royalty-rates-are-about-to.html, which is equally disturbing.

Some people are trying to find a better way.

OMG, never never NEVER mention video games or DRM to Andrew!! I think it's an important issue too but HE NEVER SHUTS UP! GAHHHH!!!

I'm one of those "dont-get-me-started-on-DRM" people as well. Gahhhhh.

btw, I'll be in T-dot for easter weekend, whenever that is. So yeah, closer to then I'll bug you via MSN and see if you're free.
