Wuh oh--I've got senioritis. It's pretty bad. I'm updating my livejournal to tell you how bad it is instead of working on a big art history paper I sort of need to do well on. I'm paying slightly more attention to my psychology classes, but (please forgive me for whining) it's just so hard to get motivated when you know you're going to grad school ( Read more... )

I can relate to your post very much. senioritis is contagious I think. Everyone seems to have tons of work and zero motivation. Just a few more weeks of hard work and we'll be free. I can't wait!

I didn't know you were at Vassar - very cool.

Yeah, almost there! Problem is, the same thought of "it's only a few weeks more" is both urging me to sprint to the finish line and getting me treat all my work as though none of it really matters. So I'm sort of at an impasse as to how to deal with that thought.

Oh my god, you're going to Berkeley for your doctorate?! That's so cool! Well if you need a local to show you all the B-town hotspots you know who to call :) Seriously, from the best Indian take-aways (some use MASSIVE amounts of oil, others are better for the heart...) to library secrets (the Berkeley library extends miles underground. It is actually a maze worthy of of the Minotaur. I have gotten lost in their approximately 4 times. I've also seen over 100+ naked people streak through the library, and be wary of certain dark corners where sexual activity is likely to occur...) I'll be back at Berkeley next year, feel free to look me up if you want to see a friendly face or whatever :)

If you didn't read a couple posts down, you probably got a little confused... I'm not going to UC Berkeley (as far as I know, they don't have a PsyD program)--I'm going to the Wright Institute, which is this three-story tudor house that they converted into a graduate school of sorts. They offer either a masters in counseling psychology (which I'm not doing) or a doctorate in clinical psychology (which I am doing). It's a five-year program, and at the end of it I'll presumably have my PsyD, take the licensing exam and be a practicing therapist in the state of California! It's something I've wanted to do since I can remember, and the dream is finally coming true. Excellent ( ... )
