I know about those distractions...When my life is going crazy and things aren't quite the way I'd like them to be, it makes it just that much harder to concentrate in the arena whether you're consciously thinking about things or not. It'll get better. It always does. It's my thinking that there is a reason for everything that happens in our lives. You're learning through every bad experience. And its those bad times that make the good ones shine. Try to focus on those things in your life you do cherish. When the time is right, you'll find the lady you're looking for. Hope I could help!

I definitely understand that feeling of uselessness. Even when you actually ARE doing something, you feel like you are SUPPOSED to be DOING something. Maybe that doesn't make any sense.
As far as your ex goes; I fell in love with my best friend...then things went bad and, behind my back, a good friend of mine started dating him. That was last year - current sitch: I refuse to let anyone else in because he completely broke my heart...and dragged it out for about a year. And the really sad part is - he's still one of the only guys I truly care about. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, there's tons of people who know how you feel.
I'll say a prayer for ya.
