Pairing: Blohyuk
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Not mine don't sue

Hyukjae is a bright red cherry tomato.

Though he is a bit on the small side, a note that the farmer makes sure to mark down, he is a wonderfully vibrant color. It won’t be long now before Hyukjae gets packaged and sent off to the markets. The farmer then ticks off a tiny checkbox on his clipboard and proceeds down the line to check on the other tomatoes.

True to the farmer’s predictions, a week or so later a hired farm hand gently plucks Hyukjae out of his home and places him in a basket. From there, Hyukjae is quickly scrubbed down before being placed in a large box. There are a lot of other cherry tomatoes here, but they look busy. Hyukjae, being shy doesn’t speak to any one else. He stays in his little corner and tries to not bump into anybody. He does, after all, bruise easily.

It gets dark in the box so Hyukjae decides to take a nap.

He awakens when a large ray of light stabs itself across his vision. Hurriedly, he tries to blinks himself awake but the box is suddenly tilted and he feels himself falling out. He grabs onto a bigger tomato and quickly shuts his eyes as he prays not to get squished.

When everything is still again, and Hyukjae no longer hears the chaotic cries of his fellow tomatoes, he decides it might be safe to reopen his eyes. Sticking his head out, Hyukjae gingerly steps out behind the bigger tomato and finds himself momentarily blinded.

The light here is too bright for Hyukjae and he stumbles on his next step.

Before he call fall however, he is swiftly picked up and dumped into some type of transparent barrier. The material is slick and when he puts a hand against it, his hand quickly slides off.

Hyukjae takes a look around him. There are other tomatoes in here with him, tomatoes that he has never seen before. He clears his throat and decides to push through his bashfulness. He asks if any of them know what’s going on.

All the answers he gets are negative and Hyukjae falls quiet again.

He spends the rest of his time peering at the world that blurs around him. Hyukjae does not know where they’re going, but wherever it is, it seems imperative that they get there fast.

He is suddenly thrown up against the barrier and panics as he feels the ground rumbling underneath him. The lights go out again.

Hyukjae is afraid to fall asleep but he can’t see anything in this sudden heavy darkness. He feels movement outside the barrier, but has no visual confirmation of anything. After what feels to be an eternity, light enters the barrier. Hyukjae has to stifle his screams when he sees how far away he is from the ground.

All of a sudden, the lights suddenly go out again and Hyukjae is cold, so very cold. He shivers, and finds exhaustion seeping through his tiny body.

He sleeps.

He is roused into wakefulness when his body hits a smooth surface.

“…What?..Where am I?” Hyukjae wonders, rolling about the slippery surface as he tries to orient himself.

“Hey!” A bright voice calls out. Hyukjae turns his head to see a large green object flapping towards him. “You’re a different color than I am!” The stranger smiles happily at this revelation. “Let’s be friends!”

“Ummm,” Hyukjae mumbles, thrown off by this new person. “I can’t talk to strangers!” He makes up an excuse on the fly and quickly rolls away.

Hyukjae spends his time trying to explore his new environment but all he can see is more leafy green things.

“Hey,” a voice calls out. Hyukjae cowers, thinking the big leafy thing came back and was trying to befriend him again.

“You should hide,” the voice says.

“Who’s there?” Hyukaje whispers, whipping around him to find the source of the voice. When he doesn’t see anybody except a large cylinder shaped object towering over him, he fearfully asks, “…Is that you, God?”

The voice coughs uncomfortably. “Uh…yeah, let’s go with that. You really need to hide though,” God says. “They might try to eat you.”

“EAT ME?!” Hyukjae cries, horrified at the thought.

“Yeah. You should try to hide or something.”

Hyukjae quickly rolls away. Then he backtracks. “Thanks, God,” he says, mindful of his manners.

All this rolling around has gotten him really hot, and tiny beads of perspiration start to dot around Hyukjae’s round figure.

“W-Wait,” God says, “Why are you sweating so much?”

“I’m really hot. Say, wait a minute, aren’t you suppose to know all?”

“Quick they’re coming! Hide!”

Hyukjae zooms around trying to find a place to hide his little round self. He finds a tiny crevice in between two objects and tries to squeeze himself inside.

He finds that he cannot fit properly and thinks that maybe if he backs up and tries again he might fit. He proceeds to do so, thrusting himself in and out of the small space.

God starts to groan above him.

Oh no, Hyukjae thinks, is he too late? Terrified, he speeds up his attempts and tries to squish himself up in the space.

“God?” Hyukjae says, looking upward. All of a sudden he feels a thick white liquid covering him.

“Sorry,” God says, his voice sounding like he was just above Hyukjae. “I got a little too excited.”

“Hyungnim?” Hyukjae asks as he comes into the room, holding Daniel’s cup of coffee in his hands. “Don’t you think that’s a bit too much salad dressing?”

“It’s fine,” Daniel insists, setting the half empty dressing bottle back down. He leans over to give Hyukjae a quick thank you kiss for his coffee.

Hyukjae takes a seat next to him and nips a quick bite from Daniel’s salad.

“Mmm,” he says, chewing thoughtfully. “The cherry tomatoes are really ripe this season aren’t they?”

Daniel grins as he props an elbow up on the table. “Hyukjae,” he says, his grin getting bigger. “Just because I had your cherry for dessert last night doesn’t mean you need to steal mine for breakfast.”

Hyukjae flushes as red as a cherry tomato.
