Hopefully it will be a unique whatever-it-was.

But hope is not a plan.

we persevered due to good training and phlegmatic personalities (for Cuckles and I), but it was not much fun. We're ok and doing well (tonights dinner and drinks did not hurt on that front), but it was a stressful event which we hope not to repeat. Chuckles, being less attached to the victim, was less stressed than I or my lady, Based on my past experiences of tending to strangers under such situations, I'd have to say that social separation in such matters is a net benefit.

Not "less attached" per se. Just more used to dealing with this kind of stuff with people I know.

Agreed that hope is not a plan. But I'm kinda limited on help I can offer from out here ;)

In the interest of offering more constructive help, though, what first aid type training have you had, and from which organization(s)?
